Master of Arts in Socio-Cultural and Political Transformation (M.A.) - Two-Year Degree Program
The seventy-plus years of the Karen people’s movement for freedom need renewed critical and analytical approach. Without weakening the historical and political rights, the Karen people must move on towards constructive nationalism. The MA course intends at being academically practical in building the Karen people towards a future, with fitting political forms from a geopolitical paradigm. The program of study is aimed at promoting transformative paradigms to the Karen people.
We are aware of the difficulties and the challenges facing the Karen people, issues such as maladministration, poor leadership, and poor governance. The program is designed to predispose a new generation of more creative and interdisciplinary leaders, able to provide new forms of structure that make sense of apparent chaos, drive the future, and bring about positive change.
The aim of the program is to analyze and respond correctly social-cultural and political transformation of the Karen people and approach the critical international issues in general and Karen political transformation in particular.
Qualification Awarded: The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree, Master of Arts (MA).

Academic Entry Requirements
- To ensure a qualitative approach to the course, prospective students must hold a bachelor’s degree in science, arts, or theology.
- Undergraduate Diploma, Official Certificate, and Transcript.
